Babayka-Lives Poster.

For anyone kind enough to wanna show Babayka-Lives some love, I’ve finally got around to making a poster for this web-series (actually, that’s not true. I’ve done an Babayka-Lives animated Gif before, and the infamous Yana crimson smile pin-up from 2014, which was my first go at doing some promo artwork.) But here we have Babayka himself front-and-centre, for those that enjoyed the opening scene to Babayka Land. I think this and the creepy smiling shot from the end of Brides Of Babayka are my personal two favourite drawings of Babayka.

Feel free to save this promo poster to your desktops for reposting, or head over to my Deviantart page for any needed URL links, etc. All online shout outs and support is greatly appreciated and really does help. If you enjoyed Brides Of Babayka, and are currently enjoying Babayka Land, please do consider giving Babayka-Lives a mention on your blogs, journals, twitter\facebook pages, tumblrs or however you like to put yourself out there online. It’s also a cool way for me to know readers are out there enjoying this webcomic. A big thank you in advance to those that do.

This weekend sees the final part of Babayka Land before the start of its summer hiatus. Tune in this Saturday to see who\what was behind that big explosion from the last instalment. Has Newton’s, Elizabeth’s, and Oleg’s luck run out already?

Art Up.

Over the short British summer period, there’s usually a few tasks I like to try and get done, so I don’t have to do them in the cold and wet winter months. One of them is to stock up on art supplies. I try and avoid soggy Bristol Board by going out and getting it when I know the sun will be out. As you can see from the above photo, this year’s mission is complete, but it was far from smooth sailing. Firstly, I pretty much picked the hottest day of the year to make my long trek to the local artshop. I don’t know if it is possible to die of dehydration through sweating so much, but I probably came close, it has to be said. And once I got to the artshop after my long, long, sweaty hike, I was greeted with an empty and boarded up shop, and a note that said they were out of business. Annoyed, tired and thirsty… I decided to make another long hike back into town to hit up a smaller artshop near the train-station, so my trip wasn’t a complete waste, and I could still pick up a couple of things, and order the rest online. This back up plan soon also went ‘tits up’, though, as when I finally reach the shop after another long and sweaty trek, again I was greeted by a locked door and a note. This time saying the artshop was close for the summer, and wouldn’t be open for another couple of months. I had to admit defeat and return home with zero art supplies, and all I had managed to pick up was sunburn, sweat stains, and bloody\blister ridden feet.

I hate ordering Bristol Board and Ink online, in case they get damaged in the post. As well as pencils, as surely the lead would be all broken inside from being manhandled by careless postman and workers in the sorting office. Sadly, though, I think this is my only option now. Unless some other artshop pops up in my hometown in the near future.

Meanwhile over on Babayka-Lives this weekend… Get ready for the summer cliffhanger next week, by reading this week’s mini cliffhanger.

Babayka Land On Tapastic.

For those who will miss Babayka-Lives when it goes on its summer hiatus soon. You can now relive the terror of those earlier pages of Babayka Land over on Tapastic during the main sites downtime this summer.

Short And Scary.

One of the things I wanna get into more this year, is checking out short horror movies online. I kind of get the feeling it’s currently a golden age for them, I’m just trying to figure out the best places online to find them. If anybody has any recommendations for good videos or channels, please feel free to suggest them via the usual email address.

Here’s one I checked out and enjoyed over the weekend called: CALL GiRL.

Summer Hiatus.

In my first full year of running a webcomic back in 2014, I notices that over the summer, a lot of other webcomics would usually have a short break over the summer period. Around the same time, I also notice my own readership numbers had dipped a little during the summer months. This kind of made sense to me, as when the sun’s out, who wants to be sitting indoors reading a webcomic (especially a horror comic), and so last year Babayka-Lives took its first summer break, and the plan is to do so again this year.

I won’t lie and will own up to my own tiny blunder here. I had wanted to start my summer break around this time of the year, but with a cliffhanger just around the corner that I wanted to go out on, I think I must have done my maths wrong earlier in the year, as we actually still have at least a few more updates this summer before Babayka-Live summer hiatus. For those who aren’t big fans of summer breaks during their favourite ongoing webcomic series, my poor maths skills have worked in your favour, as Babayka-Lives will still be active for a bit longer this summer. It’ll be more of an mid\late summer, very early autumn break this year.

One of the perks of taking a yearly summer break, apart from actually being able to go out and enjoy the sun a little now, is I’m hoping to also get a pin-up or two done during my Babayka free time this summer. I won’t go into any details, but I do have a couple of ideas I’m keen to draw during my very short summer break, if all goes well. Things are very much a bit up in the air right now, but I do promises to try and get something pin-up wise done this summer. But I’ll have to be a bit cryptic over theme and content for now before I can make any official announcements

For a little while longer, though, please enjoy as our three lead characters head ever deeper into Krayvengrad (I.e. Babayka Land). No spoilers, but something big and nasty is heading towards Newton, Elizabeth and Oleg this summer. Find out what only at: Babayka-Lives.com
