The gruesome work on my new Zombie Comic continues...
I'm really getting to draw a lot of good ghoulish Undead Art on this new project, as the above screaming Zombie Head hopefully shows.
I'm really getting to draw a lot of good ghoulish Undead Art on this new project, as the above screaming Zombie Head hopefully shows.
But whatever they're called, I'm pleased to say I managed to sneak one into my new Zombie Comic.
I'm pleased to say I did find some time over the Easter break to plant my newly acquired Cacti Seeds.
I'm nervous but excited to see if anything will germinate over the Spring and Summer. It's my first time buying Seeds from an online Seller and I'm praying I haven't been sold 'Magic Beans' or anything.
HAPPY EASTER, Everyone, hope you all have a great one this weekend...
Since Easter is a time for celebrating those that were once dead but now walk amongst the living again (the resurrected dead, if you will), I thought I'd use this Holiday as an excuse to post a new WIP shot from my upcoming Zombie project.
Just remember... to a Zombie 'you're' the Chocolate Egg and everyday is Easter.
I didn't plan it that way or anything, it just kind of happened... Honest.
My big bulbous Cacti after being repotted into its new funky container.
I won't lie, repotting it was, as feared, a total nightmare and not much fun, but at least it's done now.
Nerdy Fact: My big Cactus has a bit of a mean lean going on (as is a common problem with larger Cacti). My hope is by aiming the sloping side away from the Sunlight, when the Summer Sun does appear, it'll try and tilt towards it, and hopefully straighten up a little bit, as Cacti often lean towards the Sun. That's my plan, anyway. No idea if it will work.
Now my Cacti Seedling from last year are big enough to be Potted, I thought I'd 'bite the bullet' and try my hand at growing some rarer Cacti.
I've been online and hunted down and ordered some, which came this week, and plan to plant them over Easter.
I'm a little nervous as I've never bought Seeds from online Sellers before, but I am hopeful something will germinate over the Summer.
Also this week while I had my 'Green Fingers' out...
I had to repot my two Cacti that I got last year, as they had both outgrown their Pots that they had been in less than a year.
My hope is if I get them all repotted and sorted now early in the year, hopefully they'll thrive and grow even more over the Spring\Summer.
Although next comes the REALLY hard part... Repotting my 41-incher on my own...
But for those that did survive the cold and frost, yesterday they finally escaped their 'Tupperware Prison' and have graduated to a proper Pot of their own.
I imagine if you threw one these in the heat of battle, it would explode and get Citric Acid in everyone's eyes.
The big Undead reveal, if you will.
In this shot you've really gotta try and make your Zombie as nasty and unsettling as you can to try and shock the audience.
A German Tiger Tank experiences some unexpected 'Turret Tossing' thanks to a lone British Paratrooper in this explosive WW2 themed Splash Page.
From that day forth they called him 'Tiger Killer'...
I hadn't actually planned on using Halftones on this particular page, but I'm glad I did have a play around with them, as they really add to the effect of the explosion and the Turret being thrown up in the air by the blast.
It was also nice to finally get a chance to draw some 'Tank Action'. Something I wish I got to do more often.
I think we can all agree... the grabbiest and must handsy Monster is the common Zombie.
They're rotten gross hands are everywhere and worse of all there's hundreds of them just groping around looking for fresh Flesh.
Sadly this enclosed photo says it all...
I think it's safe to say while working on this current 'Walking Dead' project I'm very much living in 'Zombie Land'.
This year's Birthday snack of choice for tomorrow... bought and tried out of curiosity, thinking they wouldn't taste very good, but actually pretty yummy.
Which was surprising, as usually when I try novelty flavours, I hate them.
I think it's safe to say the weather's gone a little bit 'Evil Dead'.
Been talking a lot this week about maybe trying to buy a new Mobile Phone for my Birthday next month. Maybe talking a bit 'too' loudly as my phone received a new message this morning trying to sell me a new Phone. Something it's never done before.
So creepy that something you have to pay to own can be used as a tool to spy on you in your own home.
I suppose it's too late in the game to do a quick rewrite and put in a scene where she gets a trendy new haircut mid-story so I can keep this look, huh?
It's weird how Zombies always look good bald. They're the Jason Statham of the Monster World.
I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any 'Amicus anthology horror films' on over Christmas this year, sadly. For some reason I just find the Festive Season is a really good time for Portmanteau style short horror flicks and was sad that none were being shown.
Luckily they did reshow all the classic 'BBC A Ghost Story For Christmas', which helped ease the pain a lot. Plus I've also used this dry spot as an excuse to finally get around to bingeing my copies of a 90's horror anthology TV show called The Hunger.
I just hope next Xmas the TV scheduling Gods won't be so cruel, or I'm smart enough to remember to get ahold of a copy of 1972's Tales From The Crypt.
Also... something about a 'Happy New Year' or something, I guess...
