Brooding Six.

Whenever I watch Walker, I always forget Joe Strummer did the soundtrack, and how good the soundtrack is. I re-watched it a couple of days ago, and I still have this certain tune going around in my head.

I still think Walker might be the most underrated movie of all time. I see someone has put the whole movie up on youtube, so why not judge for yourself.

Mr Pushy.

There’s a lot of skulduggery in project B.O.B. (I think soon I’ll probably have to finally reveal what this mini-series is really called), so it’s kind of nice when one of the characters actually does start acting out. Showing their true colours, as it were. Things get very dark as we build towards the climax of Issue #3.

Read Calling Dr Laura this week. It’s my favourite book of 2013 so far (even if we are only two months in.) Autobiographical comics tend to be very hit-and-miss with me. This book is a total hit. Read another pretty good autobiographical comic late last year called Paying For It, too. I have a Love\Hate relationship with bio-comics. These two differently fall on my love side. Especially Calling Dr Laura.

Stand Off.

To really get the most out of this above scene, you want to have this playing in the background as you read it. See? Much better, right?

My page-rage from a few weeks ago kind of just turned into a bit of a drawn-out period of being in a hazy fug. I did what I always do, and just tried to work my way through it as best I could, until I can find a bit of free time to recoup. Happily, I’ve been feeling in better sprits of late, and now just want to finish up this graphic-novel before it finishes me. There were many, many times that me doing an independent graphic-novel seemed like way too much of an undertaking (and in so many ways… it was.) I’m now just trying to enjoy these last few scenes and have a good time drawing them… then I’m gonna go throw all my pencils out a window and go join a monastery or something. Maybe get my hands on some tucked away farmland and start a cult and become a cult-leader. Who’s up for it? First person to join my cult gets a position-of-power and maybe I’ll make them a cool hat or something. Or maybe a badge… I’ve been dieing to buy a badge-maker for years, starting a cult would be a great excuse. Blood-orgies and badge-making… that’s what my cult’s gonna be about.

I’m not gonna lie… I’ve always thought I’d look awesome in a goat-skull mask. I could totally rock that look. Topless with a velvet cape and gold-dagger hung off my belt. I’d look adorable.

Winter Is Coming.

Seeing as how the last two weeks panels are kind of linked, I thought I’d post them with this weeks shot. That’s half-a-page of sequential goodness. A little mini-scene to check out.

I can feel the allure of the fantasy genre calling more and more, lately. I’ve jumped on the Game Of Thrones bandwagon and bought the Blu-ray box-set of the first season as a late birthday gift to myself. I’ve seen the first three episodes and I’m hooked. It’s all rutting and gutting, what’s not to love? I got a copy of the very underrated Willow on DVD over year ago that I still haven’t watched yet, too, but plan to in the coming days. At this rate, I’ll probably have bought a pair of those elf ears I keep seeing everyone wearing on the internet (even though my ears are already naturally a bit spock-y), and have started a World Of Warcraft account. Can you rut-and-gut on W.O.W? I’m starting to feel like a bit of a n00b for having never played an MMORPG before.

Sexy Distractions.

Same old story… Set out to get a lot of work done at the start of the day. On a break, decide to go online for a treat and see what’s happening in the world. Discover strip trivia exists and lose the rest of the working day. I’m not feeling very proud of myself right now.

Shine On.

Was reading this Stephen King interview on The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep over the weekend. It’s still the book I’m must looking forward to in 2013. I was hoping because the villains are vampires, there might be a bit of a Salem’s Lot cross over too. Maybe even a Kurt Barlow cameo. After reading this interview, though, I’m dropping that kooky theory.

Jonesing For Doctor Smith.

This week’s panel is very much a bookend to last week’s shot. Same size and everything. It’s kind of a reaction shot, if you will.

I don’t want to sound like a horrible cliché of myself, but I’m on a massive Doctor Who kick right now. I got myself a couple of classic Who DVDs for my birthday this weekend. It’s gonna be left over Xmas booze and Terror Of The Autons and The Daemons this weekend. Maybe a bit of birthday cake, too.
