Last Post Of The Year.

Since this is probably my last post of 2024 (HAPPY NEW YEAR, by the way, if you're into all of that), I thought I'd try and make it a good one.

And what better way to end the year than with a really gruesome Zombie shot. This panel has more than a rotting whiff of Return Of The Living Dead about it, which I quite like.

Many thanks to all those kind enough to show myself and my artwork some love in 2024. It is gratefully appreciated. And hope you all have a brilliant 2025.

Santa's Sack Of Scares.

I thought I'd take a quick moment to share this photo of all the Zombie themed content I was lucky enough to get this Xmas.

From South Korean fast running Zombies, to a Bill Murray Zom-Com. I got a couple Books, a couple of Comics and a few Films.

And yet another edition of Night Of The Living Dead. Bringing my total up to about 9 now.

Merry Christmas 2024.

To all those who celebrate it... Wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope you all have a safe and happy one this year.

I thought since last Christmas I posted some pics of my Cactus seedlings when they were about the size of a fingernail and had just sprouted. This Christmas I'd post an update photo of one of my favourite Cacti a year on, so people could see how he was doing.

I think with the green flesh and red needles he's got a bit of a Christmas vibe going on himself.

UK Zombie Movies.

My collection of UK Zombie Movies and TV shows. Or as I like to call them, my 'Ghoul Britannia' flicks.

I might be a bit bias, but I think we make some good Zombie films in this country these days, considering (apart from one Living Dead outbreak in Manchester) we only really started making Zombie Movies here in the UK after the millennium.

I held this post back until December as a bit of a Christmas treat.

Year Of The Zombie.

Wow... it really is Christmas and I must have been a VERY good boy this year.

For this week unexpected new trailers for 28 Years Later and Return Of The Living Dead both dropped. Sequels to two of the greatest Zombie movies of all time are coming to cinemas next year.

I was a little worried 2025 would be a Zombie light year with not much happening with the Undead. Looks like I was worried for nothing, though. Seems it's a great time to be a Zombie fan.

Festive Frights.

This photo has been tilted to within an inch of its life to fit that lovely Christmas Tree in. So apologies in advance for any motion sickness caused from viewing this pic.

Had a really fun and festive time last night watching Gremlins presented by Emily Booth on the big screen. Such a fun furry flick.

Hazmat Horror.

Because it's not a real Zombie Comic without a couple of sinister guys in Hazmat Suits.

Ghost Stories At Christmas.

The Book I'm currently curling up with at bedtime at the moment on these cold stormy winter nights.

Why are Ghost Stories so much better during the Christmas period?

Stamp Worthy.

I kind of feel sorry for my poor old Mum (and all the other older people in the UK right now). Usually by this point in the year, her shelves have started to fill up with Christmas Cards from old friends and family. But as of this moment she currently just has one, and I can't help but think that because of Stamps costing so much now and the price going up again, that a lot of older people are having to give sending Xmas Cards this year a miss to save much needed money.

The cost of Stamps to post, say, 20-Cards to friends and family who you maybe only reach out to at Christmas these days would be a small fortune.

I'm sure more will start turning up as December rolls on, but I just feel like a lot of people this year will be shortening their Christmas Card list as people try and figure out if their friend\family member is worth the pricey Stamp.

The Blackest Of Fridays.

I feel like Black Friday is the perfect excuse to post this freshly toned new Zombie Attack pic. As shopping on this special day is probably the closest most of us will ever get to actually being in a real life Zombie Outbreak. What with all the customer chaos and public havoc.

So good luck to any and all people brave enough to risk life and limb to go out shopping today in search of a good bargain. Happy hunting. And I hope nobody takes a chunk out of your face in all the crowd carnage like in this panel.

Dead-Stream.

Hmmm... Is it still a 'Livestream' if the person you are livestreaming is actually dead?

I got a bit playful while applying the Halftones in this shot, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the way the panel turned out.

There's a lot to be said for learning by just playing around in Art. No matter how old you get, it's still the must fun way to figure something out.

Winter Werewolves.

Had a fun time last night watching a 4K screening of An American Werewolf In London.

I had forgotten what an amazing movie it is. The way it blends comedy and horror so well.

Although I have to say, the late night long walk home after in this current freezing weather was a bit grim.

Santa Scam.

That's not cool...

I've had a lot of scumbag scammers trying to contact me over the years pretending to be people they're not. But it's a whole new low when they start pretending to be Santa.

Nobody should have to 'block' Father Christmas. It just feels so wrong.

Also you can tell it was a fake because the email address wasn't from the North Pole.

Zombie Masks.

For anybody out there having Halloween withdrawal symptoms, here's a little post just for you.

Before I put them away again for another year, I thought I'd take a quick photo of my Zombie Masks collection (does three Masks really count as a "Collection"? Probably not).

Which one is your favourite design? Or to put it another way... which one would you NOT want to run into in the middle of a Graveyard at night? I think they all look pretty 'rotten', if you know what I mean?

Erasable Pen Art.

Who knew a cute 'Pussy Pen' could draw something so dark, huh?

I've been playing around this week in my sketchbook with one of those new trendy 'Erasable Pens' that are very popular right now. Where you can rub away the ink with the other end of the pen.

This is what I came up with on my first try.

Cocktail Zombie.

What's your favourite Cocktail? Is it... a 'Zombie'?

Back from the Grave and ready to party for one night only this Halloween. This grisly Ghoul has a Cocktail of Blood with an Eyeball floating in it. What a rotter...

This was my Undead outfit I wore this year for Halloween.

Friday, 1 November 2024

Halloween Night.

A couple of pics from my Halloween outing last night. Including a fun time with Freddy and friends at a screening of A Nightmare On Elm Street presented by horror Scream Queen Emily Booth. And also some bony guy I meet just hanging out.

Farewell, Halloween 2024. You will be missed.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2024.

It's been a fun and spooky month with lots of thrills and chills, but now the big day itself is upon us.

As you can see from the enclosed photos, my old recurring Zombie affliction has sadly flared up again this October (strange how the changing of the seasons can often cause old ailments to return). It all started when I notices my old Zombie bite wound was itching a lot and I was feeling hungry all the time. And now it's all gone full blown Walking Dead.

Considering I've been drawing so much Zombie Artwork this year for my new Comic, it just seemed like the right Ghoulish thing to wear to mark the spookiest day of the year.

So HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2024, everyone... Whatever you're up to this year, I hope you have a great one. May you eat, drink and be scary.

Quest For Flesh.

The cold dead reaching hand of the Zombie...

Never stopping in its quest for Flesh.

Hoodie Zombie Horror.

Was looking at some old Halloween photos on my desktop from last year, and rediscovered these shots of me trying on my Zombie Mask that I acquired last October. I had pretty much given up on finding one until I found this Mask that I thought looked quite good when you paired it with a hood.

Talk about 'Hoodie Horror', huh?

Considering how popular the Undead currently are at the moment, I find it strange that it's always a challenge to find a decent Zombie Mask out in the shops at Halloween here in the UK (or at least my little corner of it). My theory is that maybe it's because of the gory nature of the Zombie Mask, what with the rotting flesh and so on, that maybe the big shops get a bit squeamish and avoid them, but I have no evidence to back that claim up. As I say, it's just a theory.

Good Enough For The Dead.

I love the quirky little spooky things you can only pick up in shops at this time of the year.

They were selling like hotcakes, but I manage to bag one of these cool little Coffins before they sold out. They're just made out of crappy balsa wood and so on, but I gave it a good varnishing over the weekend, and I actually think it came up looking pretty neat.

Now all I need to do is to get ahold of a little 5-inch Zombie to live in it.

Ghost Dodgers.

A flashback to an All Hallows' Eve of the past, with these photos of the 2017 Halloween Horror Art Show I put on with Illustrator James Holcombe in a real life haunted Crypt.

Hands down the best venue I've ever been lucky enough to have my Artwork shown in.

My favourite part of the whole event was when the show was due to open on the weekend, so we had in go in late on the Friday night before and set everything up. Yep, just two guys creeping around a Crypt in the dead of night trying to stay out of the way of the local Ghosts.

The Spookiest Month Of The Year.

What better way to kick off the spookiest month of the year then with the return of everyone's favourite fire damaged Zombie.

And if that isn't exciting enough, you can always play a fun game of spot the poorly applied Tipp-Ex with this frame.

Night Of The Living Dead Comics.

The many different copies of Night Of The Living Dead Comics and Graphic Novels I currently have in my collection.

Some are adaptions. A lot are prequels that flesh out the backstory of the characters and events of NOTLD. And some are sequels, often set in later time periods like the 70's and 90's.

I would love to maybe one day own them all, but considering Night Of The Living Dead is in the Public Domain and any publisher can put out a Comic with that title, it seems very unlikely. There must be so many I don't even know of.

Rogue Paratrooper Coloured.

On the battlefields of World War 2, a lone British Paratrooper (nicknamed the Red Devils by the Germans) takes out the crew of a Tiger Tank with his Sten Submachine Gun.

Some old school tough and gritty WW2 action.

I really tried to research and get the colours and look right on this Pin-Up. So hopefully I did the Paratrooper Weaponry and Uniform justice. I do think it is an iconic look and design and one of my favourites.

This is maybe the Colour Job I'm most happiest with on any of my Artworks so far. I spent a long time trying to make the trousher look as inchy and rough as I could, and the Muzzel Flash as cool as I could in this Pin-Up.

I also like that the background has a dark smokey foreboding battlefield feel about it.

Rogue Paratrooper B&W.

My black and white artwork for my latest War themed Pin-Up.

The Paratrooper look is maybe my favourite British Army look and design of all time, so I was very glad I got to draw it in this shot. Plus I even got to sneak in a Knife wielding Nazi as well and a little bit of a German Tiger Tank.

I also got to do my take on the famous Sten Machine Gun. It's a really tricky firearm to draw, as its design is like no other, but one that looks really cool if you can get it right.

Colour copy to follow soon.

Saturday The 14th.

Had a really fun time last night with Friends marking the unluckiest day of the year by watching Friday The 13th on the big screen.

But how did you all celebrate the big day yesterday? Skinny-dipping? Getting high and making out in the Woods? Investigating that strange sound coming from the old abandoned Summer Camp with a flashlight that keeps flickering on-and-off at the worse possible moments?

All In The Name Of Research.

Fun Fact: In order to draw this new panel I've been working on this week, I had to do some research into Bunny costumes and what they look like, and how they work and so on, and now I'm worried Google (and what ever other dark forces track my online activities) are gonna think I'm a 'Furry'.

A Walking Stick Of Charcoal.

I've had a crazy amount of fun these past several months dreaming up Ghoulish designs for my new Undead Comic.

And this is one of my favourite looks... He's half Zombie, half lump of walking charcoal.

This poor guy has clearly been having a rough afterlife since coming back from the dead

The Italian Living Dead.

My collection of late 70's/early 80's Italian Zombie Movies.

What with these movies being 'Exploitation Flicks' and 'Video Nasties' here in the UK, they always felt like the most dangerous and perverse of Zombie Films.

Ghouls have never been this grotty before or since.

Saturday, 17 August 2024

Slaying For A Living.

The Female Zombie Slayer with no name returns in this new and now fully Inked panel.

It's a tough and messy job, dispatching the Undead... Only the best survive.

You can tell by the short Hair (making it much harder for Zombies to grab her), and the reliable choice of Rifle she uses for the job, that this Chick is clearly a Pro at putting Ghouls back in their Graves.

So Far, So Few.

I'm sad to say it has been a very disappointing Summer for my Cacti Seedlings.

Considering I planted so many, so far only three have come up.

Admittedly, it's been a pretty lackluster Summer for Sunny\Warm weather here in the UK, and they very well might start popping up later in the year.

But still... I have say I was hoping for more.

Thursday, 8 August 2024

The Many Days Of The Dead.

Since we've had 'Night' I thought I'd follow it up with my many various copies of Day Of The Day, too.

It's worth saying that unlike Night Of The Living Dead, where the movies tend to follow the same basic plot of a remote Farmhouse being beset by newly risen from the grave Zombies. The Day Of The Dead movies are kind of all over the place and all have very different storylines going on.

Although nearly all of them, including the TV series, have their own 'Bub The Zombie'.

The Many Nights Of The Living Dead.

Here's a fun game to play at home...

How many copies (including variants, spin-offs, remakes and so on) of Night Of The Living Dead do YOU own?

Here are the copies I've been able to cobble together from my own collection.

Sunday, 28 July 2024

Slay Away.

I think there's just enough time left this week to share this new Zombie Slayer shot I drew very recently that I'm hoping to Ink next week.

Putting down the Undead is a messy job, but somebody has to do it.

Friday, 26 July 2024

46% Zombie.

Here's something for the weekend... and that 'something' is 46% of a Zombie.

Monday, 22 July 2024

Limp Summer.

Like most things this Summer, my Cactus Flower promises so much, but delivered so little.

I'm sad to say, since my last update, he's gone limp and lifeless without flowering. Even on those rare days when the Sun did come out, it didn't seem to be enough to wake him up. To be honest I'm not sure what happened to him.

Oh well... Maybe next Summer the little guy will open up.

Sunday, 14 July 2024

A Real Grower.

Wow... Clearly my Cactus liked the attention it got from me posting photos of its extra large Bud on the Internet very recently, because in just one week, it's now grown much bigger and started to develop a purple tip.

Friday, 12 July 2024

Zombie Kiss.

A WIP of someone who is about to become RIP...

This poor character is the victim of an old fashioned 'Zombie Kiss'.

I think we can all agree Zombies are 'Orally Aggressive' and have 'Boundary Issues'... a truly killer combination.

Tuesday, 9 July 2024

Large And Erect.

I've notices that something is happening with my Cacti's mysterious bud...

It's gotten massive over the last couple of weeks, which is amazing considering how little Sun we've had of late.

If it is going to Flower this Summer, it's gonna be a big one.

Sunday, 7 July 2024

Old Man Medicine.

Had a really 'wheezy chest' this weekend, possible because of the cold, wet weather or maybe something to do with Hay Fever and all the moist pollen that's probably floating around in the air right now.

So I thought I'd try a large Brandy to see if that did anything to help and my chest is feeling so much clearer today.

Why can't fixing ailments always be this good. Plus now I have an excuse to drink in the Summer.

Thursday, 4 July 2024

Grabby Ghoul.

Never forget when it comes to Halftones in your Horror Artwork, Dots can indeed be deadly, but Lines can also be lethal.

I don't tend to use a lot of 'Halftone Lines' when texturing my Artwork as I feel they can flatten out the look of a panel, but I have to say I do like the background effect they give here.

Strangely, I think this 'Grabby Ghoul' frame is my favourite Zombie shot so far in the comic.

Thursday, 27 June 2024

Dots Of Death.

More 'Dots Of Death' and 'Halftone Horror' with this newly finished Undead panel.

Call me an old romantic, but I think the Halftones in this frame really bring out the Worms in this Zombie's Eyes.

Tuesday, 25 June 2024

Slippy Summer.

You know it's too hot when you can't do your teeth properly at night because your fingers are too damp and sweaty to hold the Dental Floss.

Summer is hard on the Gums.

Sunday, 23 June 2024

Ice Cream Seeker.

My favourite Summer Memory so far this year is hearing an Ice Cream Truck coming down my road playing its music and just seeing an Obese Woman appear from nowhere and just run at it...

I've never seen a Human Being want Ice Cream so much in my life.

Tuesday, 18 June 2024

Death By Dots.

More hag faced halftone horror...

Dots have never been so deadly.
